Cataract is one of the most common eye diseases. Cataracts cause the lens of the eye to become cloudy and unable to see. Cataracts are most common in people over the age of 70, but can occur in children as young as birth. For those with cataracts, the vision will be like seeing through a cloud of snow. They also have symptoms such as headaches and watery eyes.
People with cataracts often change their glasses. Such persons should be examined for cataracts and, if present, treated and replaced. Or later the cataract may increase and it may become thicker and worse. It can be removed before that. In the past, if cataracts were removed, they would use thick glasses, but now.
if cataracts are removed, artificial lenses are used. One such lens is the intraocular lens. The most recent cataract treatment is phaco-emission. How it works is that a small tube is passed through the black part of the eye to draw the cataract and then it is fixed with a lens that can be folded.
At this stage there is no need to use any kind of other equipment and the patient will not experience any pain. It can replace the cataract within 10-15 minutes. This is possible only to a certain extent and if it is more than that then it will have to be done surgically as before. Note these things. Watch the video below to know more.
